North Shore

There’s no place on Maui quite like the North Shore and the historic, seaside surfing town of Paia, known for its unique stores, local art galleries, and action-packed beaches. Most well-known, of course, is Ho’okipa Beach – the “windsurfing capital of the world.” During the winter months, the exciting waves draw professional windsurfing and surf competitions, as well as the amateur looking to hone their skills. For those looking for a bit more relaxing fare, Baldwin Beach is known for its white sand and calmer, sparkling water. The town itself is undeniably quirky, with several charming neighborhoods like the well-known Sprecklesville and Kuau Bayview. Minutes away from the bustling town and top-tier beaches, these spots – as well as the Kuau Plaza condominium – give perfect access to the unique sights of Paia. For those looking for acreage, the higher-elevation area of Haiku should certainly be appealing. There are no condos and few neighborhoods per se, so the available land is plentiful for anyone interested in development (or simply owning a piece of the island). Haiku may be off the beaten path, but this only ensures that you can be a part of a hidden, beautiful side to the island of Maui.
